Welcome to Curtiss
Curtiss is a friendly little village located at the intersection of
County Highway E and State Highway 29.
This section of County E was the
route of the historic Yellow Stone Trail.
The Trail came west from Colby,
and north
through Curtiss, then west again, on what is now Willow Road, into
Owen, other Highway 29 cities and on to the West Coast.
The Curtiss Village Park is
located in the center of town, near the Village Office and Post
Office.
The Park includes a camping area with modern facilities, plus a ball
diamond, a new playground area, and a large,
modern shelter with attached kitchen. These are very nice facilities
for summer reunions and other gatherings.
In winter, a well-groomed snowmobile trail runs through Curtiss.
It is known as Corridor #25.
We have an active snowmobile club -- Boom Town Sno-Chasers, Inc.,
established in February of 1967.
The club holds meetings at their new club house.
Curtiss has excellent food establishments, hotel and bar,
and churches within the village.
A Mennonite Country Store
and a restaurant/bar are located a quarter-mile south of
Highway 29 on County Road E.
A large, yearly Quilt Show is
held at the Community Center the first weekend in August during Curtiss
Days.
The Curtiss Community Center is
an old historic school which was built in 1912 and later was renovated.
The building is, as its name implies, the
Center of the Community. Curtiss Lions Club and Curtiss Community Club
also hold events there through out the year. Reservations can be made for weddings, reunions, showers, meetings etc.
Stop and see us in Curtiss. We will make you feel Welcome!
