Brisk construction of new housing in Stanley has
taken place in recent
years. Townhouses, duplexes, and quadplexes offer two and three bedroom rental
units at various sites in the city. Some of these newer townhouses and duplexes are
also offered for sale.
Many fine moderately priced homes are available for sale in the Stanley area.
As seniors choose other housing due to advancing age or health issues, more and
more of them are choosing to rent upscale apartments that provide lawn care and
snow removal. Assisted living
apartments are also available now. Older well-cared-for homes are also
available on an ongoing basis. Stanley's Realtors are available to interested
home buyers.
Many fine home sites are available in the city. A new subdivision was opened
in 2001. Information can be obtained from the City Clerk at 715-644-5758.
Rental units can be found throughout the city. Income based housing is
available for the elderly, single individuals and families. Rental housing is
easily accessed via the ad section of the weekly newspaper,
The Stanley Republican.

Chippewa County Housing
Authority has ongoing assistance for low and moderate-income homeowners to
upgrade and improve their homes in Stanley. Some money is targeted to specific
sections of the city. Available money is usually targeted for installing new
windows, new roofs, and upgrading heating systems. Four units of self-help
housing were developed in 2001-2002. This project provided an avenue for first
time, as well as low and moderate-income families, to buy
a home that they could feel a part of, since they had worked on its
construction.
Assisted Living and Memory Care
The HOMEPLACE of Stanley
offers
RCAC Assisted Living apartments, CBRF
Haven Memory Care
Apartments and the new 5th Ave
Simply Care RCAC Apartments. Apartments feature kitchenette, living room,
bedroom and private bathroom with shower. Services provided are
housekeeping, individual laundry, local transportation, family style meals and
planned activities. This type of living is "considerably less expensive then a
nursing home and we invite tenants to come home to our care," explain owners Jim
and Jill Tallman. "Our facility is staffed 24 hours a day to provide health care
needs around the clock," they added. The HOMEPLACE also has locations in
Mondovi, Durand and Dorchester, Wisconsin.
Country Terrace of Stanley opened a new 16-unit assisted living complex summer
2009 on Pine Street just west of the Our Lady of Victory Hospital and east of
downtown Stanley. Director Amanda Hanson said, "being this close to the
hospital is a huge advantage. It will be easy for residents to get to
their doctor appointments and to the clinic and pharmacy." She said that there
are 16 rooms available and also two husband/wife rooms. Owner is Jason Lindemann.
He has a total of 27 different sites, including two in Eau Claire, one in
Altoona and two in Bloomer, with a 28th being readied in Hayward.
